MASON CITY – A Mason City man already convicted earlier this year of assault after police said he bit a woman on the arm and tried to strangle her was arrested again this weekend at the same address for domestic assault.
Police were again called to a residence in the 900 block of 11th Street NE to deal with 61-year-old Wayne Leroy Everett after a call was made about a physical domestic situation on Saturday, December 5 at 9:15 PM. Everett was jailed on a charge of serious domestic abuse assault. He remained held on $5,000 cash bond.
Everett was accused of a assaulting a female on July 16, 2015 “by biting her chin, left forearm, right bicep and causing bruising to these areas. He is also accused of trying to strangle the victim around the neck which left redness,” police told NIT. The incident occurred in the 900 block of 11th Street NE. Everett was transported to jail that day on two charges: Willful Injury and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He later pled guilty to assault.
Everett is a convicted sex offender. He was convicted in 2003 in Cerro Gordo county for indecent exposure, and in Minnesota in 2009 for third degree criminal sexual conduct.
If he tried to strangle someone, why wasn’t he in jail anyway?
I have known Wayne for 40 years at least. Despite these issues, it is true that he is a super guy. That may be hard to believe, but it is true. Yes he was/is a great boxer– nearly pro. As far as starting fights in bars– it is the other way around. He has been a bouncer off and on for years and is always the one stopping them…u can even as the police about that. He gets mixed up with these crazy women and it gets bad. They beat, kick, and bite him as well. And, I am totally against men abusing women. He needs to get away from this last one. I would trust him with my life…

Wayne can be a nice guy and would do anything for you but as always there is a past and when you love to get fucked up those old demons jump on your back and BANG the fight is on. He should be held accountable for his actions and most likely needs to spend time in jail(prison) Hes old but this guy is still a hell of a fighter. Wayne time to take some time out of your life and get HELP!!!

Yes he did. He is also a registered sex offender. He is not mis-understood and has had many, many chances.
Could have been a relative named Bruce. He was a loser too. Always picking fights in bars.
He has always been a piece of crap. What people do not get is he is homeless and always have been. It is cold outside and in jail he gets fed, a shower and free medical. He knows that and delibertly gets himself thrown in jail.
LVS there are a lot of things wrong with this guys but homeless is not one. Try getting attacked by some drunk ass then getting thrown in jail for his past mistakes. If you look you see him with the 2 black eyes. We tried to tell him to say away from her before he ended back in jail because she can’t stop drinking, then starts assaulting and he dumb enough to stick around.
@1980-I know someone from 1978 who ran around with this guy when they were kids and has stayed in touch with him over the years. They guy is a waste and everyone knows it.
I know him myself and he has been fighting some demons for quite some time. He is trying to be a grandfather to his grandchildren but keeps finding himself in trouble. It’s nice god gave you the right to call people piece of crap because if all you do is get online to these news feeds and put people down when you have no idea on what’s going on, tells me that your the piece of crap with nothing to do in your life but make yourself feel better with putting people down that are already in a bad spot. I cant imagine you have a lot of friend that is why you on this site with the most comments waiting for someone to make contact with you. WOW
@1980-OK dumb a$$-read my previous post. I said I know someone who knows him very well. They grew up together and as a matter of fact he has been in my home and I certainly do not need any crap from someone as dumb as you.
Sure…blame the victim for getting bit and this guy landing in jail. He could leave. He doesn’t need to stay and bite someone no doubt smaller and weaker. I have zero sympathy for this guy. The Everett boys have always been trouble making fighters. They get what they ask for. KARMA is a bch ain’t it.
