FRANKLIN COUNTY – A Texas woman was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Mason City after a crash in rural Franklin county early Thursday morning.
Ashley Spencer, age 31 of Plano, Texas, was eastbound in her 2011 Ford Focus on county road C55 at the intersection of 70th Street when she failed to stop at the stop sign there. She proceeded through the intersection and was struck by a 2013 Dodge Ram driven by 45-year-old Thomas Lowe of Fort Dodge.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and Spencer was airlifted by Mercy Air Med to Mercy Hospital in Mason City with undisclosed injuries.
