VENTURA – Details were few, but it has been confirmed that there was a shooting today in Ventura.
A number of NIT readers asked about a possible shooting incident that took place Thursday in Ventura. Sheriff Kevin Pals confirmed that a male juvenile has been injured by a gunshot. The shooting was self-inflicted and he is still alive. The boy’s name was not released.
NIT is attempting to gather more information, such as when and where the shooting took place and whose gun was used.
UPDATE: The shooting took place at the 16oo block of 237th Street in Ventura at 11:20 AM Thursday. The weapon was a hunting gun owned by the family.
