Secretary Mnuchin confirmed that Americans will receive their compensation in a matter of weeks, not months: Secretary @stevenmnuchin1: “I don’t know where you’re hearing these things. I told you this would be three weeks. I’m now committing to two weeks. We’re delivering on our commitments. The IRS which I oversee, within two week the first money will be in people’s accounts.” Sec. Mnuchin’s sentiment directly refutes the alarmist narrative pushed by Democratic Senate candidates in swing states, all of whom are allies with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY):

The low-priced China manufactures that Americans have been buying seem to have carried too high a cost. President Xi Jinping’s China has become more hostile to human rights at home and more menacing abroad.

On one side is the People’s Republic of China, where COVID-19 apparently transferred from animal to human hosts. The government has deliberately lied about human-to-human transmission, persecuted to the point of death doctors who warned of its dangers and is still certainly lying about its continuing prevalence. On the other side of this Iron Curtain — until the virus appeared, by dozens of airline flights every day — are places that seem to have responded most successfully to the pandemic: Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Does Lindell’s vocal Christianity so thoroughly repulse them that they would reject his contribution if they could? It seems so, based on their reaction. That’s how you know it’s hatred — that they would forgo his life-saving works because of his beliefs.

Bullshit. The problem everybody’s having is that it was completely inappropriate in every way. It was neither the time nor the place for proselytizing, nor had he any business even being there, since there are many companies, a number of them here in Iowa, doing exactly the same thing, so why single this clown out? Furthermore, the first Pilgrims came here for freedom of religion, since they didn’t want to be forced to practice an official state religion, which is exactly what this seems to be. Americans want actual information on what the White House is doing to cope with this serious threat, and Trump can’t do it without making it about himself. In the middle of a COVID-19 update, he interjects that he “just discovered he’s Number 1 on Facebook!” Most of those posts, by the way, are very unflattering ones, which he’s not even smart enough to know.

As liberal networks debate whether to pull broadcasting pressers from the president of the United States because they don’t like him, one anti-Trump network might not have a choice if they want to boost ratings. CNN had quite a dismal first quarter, with not a single one of their programs cracking the top 20 in the rating chart.

Calling for a federal investigation, U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley questioned Tuesday whether giant meatpacking companies are using the public health pandemic to “gouge” U.S. cattle producers, who have seen prices for their beef fall 3.5% over the past three weeks even as demand has surged. “During this period of time, through no fault of their own, many farmers in Iowa have seen the prices of their products plummet, something you wouldn’t expect would happen in a crisis,” the Iowa Republican said Tuesday in a call with reporters. Grassley, who plans to ask the U.S. Justice and Agriculture departments to investigate, said futures prices for live cattle are falling at the same time consumers are flooding grocery stores..

The Chinese Communist Party refuses to admit fault and instead proclaims itself the model of how to contain the virus. Trump’s salary is a pittance to what seems to be going on in the Executive Branch. The grift seems real and obvious. His son-in-law is in charge of many important directives and has no experience (or business at all, no clearance) to be there. My opinion, he’s looking for ways to score for the Trump business empire. Low-information folk point to the “donation” of salary (masterful mis-direction by Trump) and run with it while ignoring what appears to be going on with Trump and Kushner, not to mention Ivanka, likely. These people should be nowhere near a pandemic response, nor peace negotiations in the Middle East, etc. Trump is putting federal persons in his hotels at hundreds of dollars per night. Just look it up when you take a break from posting dozens of pro-Trump posts here all day long and you will learn something. America is for sale and the President is cashing in.

Not only that, but he “donates” his salary by sending personal checks to the government agencies he blabs about, when he knows very well that they CAN’T LEGALLY CASH THEM. They either return the checks, or stash them in a drawer somewhere, but they’re never deposited, so he’s not out a dime, and in fact makes money on this scam.

They know that the one thing that will definitely cost them the White House and control of the Senate is a recession, and this will be a bad one. Add to that the deaths of 200,000 – 400,000 Americans by election day, and the GOP won’t be in power again for at least 25 years, and they know it.

You do realize that according to the CDC around 8200 Americans die every single day by some other reason. In this same period that doctors now estimate 82,000 deaths from this virus, reduced due to chloroquine treatment, we will lose about 1 million Americans for something else.

The difference is the media is not reporting on those deaths as that is not sexy. Cancer and heart disease will claim about 500,000 in this same time period.

82,000 deaths is two one hundredths of 1% of our US population. Even if the worst case scenario of 2 million in a year is 6/10 of 1%.

Everyone runs around quoting the virus numbers but no one uses any comparison data because it makes an agenda and narrative look silly.

I’m not trying to down play loss of life or the challenges this virus presents but where else in our life would we react and make decisions with these %s based on data?

Therefore, we need people like Dr. Fauci who was doing it as much as he could, with all his other duties, but Trump is itching to fire him too. The number of patients waiting for care has risen: the quantity of patients on Vermont’s “Choices for Care” moderate needs Medicaid waiting list has more than doubled, rising from 402 before expansion to 880 more recently. Put simply, as Vermont has expanded Medicaid to able-bodied adults, both hospitals and the most vulnerable individuals in need of care have suffered. It’s no surprise that many expansion states have turned to commonsense Medicaid work requirements and enrollment freezes to counteract the unsustainable trends that expansion has sparked.

This is precisely what’s playing out in rural areas like the state of Vermont, one of the first adopters of Medicaid expansion. Vermont added thousands of able-bodied adults to Medicaid via ObamaCare starting back in 2014. Now, roughly one in every three Vermonters is on Medicaid. Since that time, hospital finances have spiraled into the red. Today, growth in Vermont’s hospital operating expenses outpaces growth in revenue by millions of dollars. This is a recipe for disaster.

Think about it: expansion shifts adults off of private insurance and onto Medicaid, thereby causing hospitals to be faced with more patients at a much lower reimbursement rate—a troubling reality. In fact, a six-year study of more than 1,700 hospitals found that expansion states had higher Medicaid payment shortfalls compared to their non-expansion counterparts.

Reality has a tendency to get in the way of big promises. The latest data actually show that expanding Medicaid has not materially improved the hospital’s financial health and that these promises of hospital jobs have gone unfulfilled. In many instances, expansion states have actually lost thousands of hospital jobs. And non-expansion states have seen hospital jobs grow at a faster rate compared to expansion states.

A rejection of the Donald Trump led American energy renaissance would raise the cost for all low-income Americans who struggle to pay for heating and cooling their homes and fueling their cars – particularly in most black neighborhoods.

Both Democrat presidential candidates, Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders, have bowed to the demands of progressive activists by adopting extreme green-energy policies that hurt Black American voters. As a result, leaders of normally progressive/liberal civil rights organizations are now urging Democrats to reconsider support for policies that would radically move us away from traditional and affordable energy like natural gas to unproven green energy.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley put drug cartels on notice if they are going to try to take advantage of the Wuhan coronavirus crisis within the United States during the White House press briefing on Wednesday. Milley said the Department of Defense has received intelligence reports that the cartels will try to import large amounts of drugs and other contraband while law enforcement is more focused on coronavirus matters. Seven thousand Americans die on an average annual basis to drugs. That’s unacceptable. We’re at war with COVID-19. We’re at war with terrorists, and we are at war with the drug cartels as well,” Milley said. “The bottom line is you’re not going to get through. Now is not the time to try to penetrate the United States of illegal drugs to kill Americans. With the United States military, we will defend our country regardless of the cost,” Milley said.

The man admitted to police that he was hoping to draw attention to the USNS Mercy’s presence in the Port of Los Angeles, believing it to be part of a larger COVID-19 conspiracy or possible government takeover. Eduardo Moreno was arrested on one federal charge of train wrecking, according to reports.

The Presidency is an actual job, the idiot Trump can’t do it.

For several years now, Trump has managed to bullshit his way through his presidency, walking a narrow path while pretending he knows what’s going on, pretending he has a handle on the details and responsibilities involved in serving in such a rarefied position.
Americans at large are waking up to a grotesque, unavoidable reality. This isn’t new.
Trump has always been staggeringly out of his depth as president, routinely overwhelmed by the rigors and requirements of the job, while appearing to act based solely on his own political and financial desperation.

This is where it might be nice to have a president who can be trusted, at least as much as Americans have trusted other presidents in a crisis, rather than a buffoon whose very appearance is a lie — a makeup-slathered, badly-coiffed hustler who lies with the same
unblinking ease to the tune of nearly 17,000 lies in a little more than three years.

George Conway, in response to McConnell saying that impeachment distracted Trump from responding to the virus: “Look at the calendar. Impeachment was pretty much over on January 31, when Senators killed the idea of testimony, although the final vote wasn’t until February 5. Trump went to Mar-a-Lago at least four times in the first two months of the year, held frequent campaign rallies, and repeatedly went golfing. And he commented often on the coronavirus, telling reporters and tweeting that ‘we have it totally under control.’

From a political standpoint, as well, this argument doesn’t hold water. If Trump and his advisors were focusing at all on the coronavirus in those crucial weeks, they would have deployed then the argument that impeachment was hurting their ability to respond adequately to the crisis. It was a winning political argument that would have played well across the country (in addition to promoting our ability to fight the epidemic).”

And as late at February 26, Trump was tweeting that Covid-19 was “No worse than the flu. Just another flu.”

China has closed down its last corona virus hospital. Not enough new cases to support them.

Only when they say things that make the president look good. The rest of the time, no.

The war has been there for a long time but generally no one acknowledged it. People have been speaking up for years against putting our supply chain for essential goods in the hands of other nations, especially China. It was like speaking to a stone wall. President Trump has tried extremely hard to work with China with a little bit of success.Don’t blame China for this. This situation is 100% American home grown. China is just willing to be the provider and get rich in the process. We went seeking, China spoke up and said We can take care of your needs. We said, Great. And we were off and running. Now we see the foolishness of that. Anything that is essential should be made in the US. That leaves a lot of room for international trade, including with China, but it recognizes some things are more important than price.

If this doesn’t show America anything else, it should show us we should never turn over control of any part of America or are economy to any other nation. We once knew this and avoided it happening. Over the past decades our government has turned over many facets of America to other countries often for our leaders financial gain.

China was given free rein for too many years and now that Trump has exposed the underlying purposes for that situation which has left us dependent on China and many other countries, there will be some backlashes until we can regain some control of our necessary operations such as our medicine supplies !

Money-worshipping conservative Republicans did this, shipping American jobs overseas to save a few cents, and to drive the middle class down. They wanted this, and now they got it.

Yeh, as I recall it was Clinton, Obama and Biden that pushed the hell out of China.

He is our representative there. He does what Trump wants him to do.
