In the beginning of our existence on this side of the world, we welcomed people of all faiths to our land, free to practice the precepts of their religions. Pilgrim Fathers, Amish, Lutherans, Quakers, Baptists, Anglicans, and Jews all free to believe as they were taught, without interference from Government, nor bias.
Yet today, there are those in our country, indeed this very community, who think it fashionable, even right, to interfere with the rights of some who follow their faith, a mainstream, established faith. In direct violation of not only our Laws, but indeed, against of our Constitution.
I have to ask, what gives them the right to abridge the rights of others? Is our Constitution that meaningless to them? Disposable when it suits them? And if they succeed in ridding our country of one religion, who is to stop them from others? Where will it end? Lithuanians? Serbians? Egyptians? Koreans? Sudanese? Peruvians?
