Johnny Holm Band and Thunderstruck at the Surf coming up. More tribute bands at ridiculously high ticket prices, booked by out-of-town amateurs and con artists. Why are we permitting this?

$22 million for a new field house at MCHS, $15 million for NIACC, millions more for the downtown project and Music Man Square. Do they think Mason City taxpayers are made of money? The ironic part is that most of the people pushing these huge projects don’t live in Mason City, and it won’t cost them a dime.

The NIACC money is a very wise investment towards economic development for this area. The downtown project isn’t tax payer money (its private equity). The only project that is somewhat questionable depends upon how you feel about athletic facilities and that is the high school project.

The Democrat Party is the world’s most successful hate group. It attracts poor people who hate rich people, black people who hate white people, gay people whoo hate straight people, feminist who hate men, enviromentalist who hate the internal combustion engine, and a lot of bratty college kids that hate their parents. However, the party’s real success is that it attracts the support of journalists that hate the Republicans and therefore work tirelessly to convince the rest of us sane people to vote for Democrats, and fail.

So why were so many Pajama Boy Snowflakes and Mexican Man Shoe Feminists so bothered by the Daytona 500? Could it be that the race started with an invocation that included a preacher praying in the name of Jesus? Or was it the fact that no one took a knee during the singing of the Star-Spangled Banner? Or maybe it was the display of so much red-blooded “toxic masculinity”?

The reason why Democrats and the Mainstream Media suffered a sudden onset of Trump Derangement Syndrome is because NASCAR values are the antithesis of everything the leftists stand for – freedom, liberty, patriotism. The president’s lap around the Daytona International Speedway was a victory lap for gun-toting, Bible-clinging, flag-waving patriots. Well done, Mr. President. The top finishers in the first two Democratic presidential primaries are an aging communist posing as a less scary Democratic Socialist, and a 38-year-old former mayor of South Bend, Indiana who has alienated the black community, advocates packing the Supreme Court and abolishing the Electoral College, and wants to put a “first gentleman” in the White House. And there’s “electable” Joe Biden, who has yet to win a single delegate, Elizabeth “Native American” Warren and “moderate” Amy Klobuchar, who wants free health care for illegal aliens, plus the whole abortion-LGBTQ agenda.

The kick-off to the 2020 Democratic primaries was rather disastrous. In Iowa, the caucuses were a complete and total disaster. There was no data. For over 24 hours, we have no idea what was going on, and even the set we have now is still coming under immense scrutiny. The app that was used, made by former Clinton and Obama operatives, was—shocker—not good. It’s still a mess. The Iowa Democratic Party chair has resigned after new leadership was chosen, and the 2020 Iowa Caucus might also be the last after this debacle.

“So, what caused this fiasco?” Many years of the leaders of the Democratic party trying to oust Iowa as first in the nation. If they get that done, then it becomes real easy for them to marginalize us. Take away our small voice.

Most of the things that the Democrats complain about in Iowa, were instituted from the late 40’s to early 80’s. Almost all by Democrats. So, I don’t see the “red-state culture” in that. I do see a conservative side when it comes to not wanting to give away our hard earned money. You want money, get off your lazy ass and earn it.

“It’s time to abandon the Hawkeye State because rooms with a high percentage of white people are “not an indication of the Democratic Party.””

You may have forgotten but Iowa’s first in the nation status launched Barack Obama into the limelight of national politics and provided him with a path to the presidency. Why would Democrats be against that? You right wing wack jobs would be against for that very reason – it helped elect a black man to the presidency.

Patients who have health insurance routinely get hit with surprise medical bills that can be in the thousands. It comes as a great shock and can be devastating on top of dealing with a health issue! Insurance companies have created a backdoor loophole for themselves that rakes in millions at the expense of patients, doctors, and the general public.

Every year the health care industry makes record profits thanks to a system crafted by government to benefit the insurance companies. Insurance company lobbyists helped to create Obamacare, because they were granted a mandate. Every American was forced to purchase their product through the individual mandate. It is a perfect system for the insurers because they get to craft coverage areas while Americans are stuck with insurance carriers’ soaring deductibles and substandard coverage.

Lawmakers warned Congress against government-dictated price controls for surprise medical billing last week in a hearing on Capitol Hill. Republican lawmakers urged Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to reject proposals offering government-dictated price controls as a solution to surprise medical billing. Both Republican and Democrat lawmakers also voiced their concerns. Thirty-nine representatives, led by Republican Maryland Rep. Andy Harris, wrote in a letter, “By design, placing such price controls on purely private transactions would reduce access to care, increase the power of the federal government, and result in negative, unintended consequences. We oppose price controls as a solution to the issue of surprise medical billing,”

The process then moves to the Senate, which acts as trial jury, and may or may not convict, which, in this case, they did not. In any American court proceeding, this is the case: one may not be convicted, but they’ve been indicted, and nothing can undo that.

No, you haven’t but you have seen corporate executive pay go up CEOs make 278 times more than typical workers

Bloombergs plan to tax the wealthy and increased tax on capital gains in order to pay for tuition and forgive student loans will only trickle down to the middle class by forcing the corporations to increase their prices on goods and consumables. The wealthy don’t get wealthy by luck or being stupid, they are not going to let any of these tax hikes decrease their bottom line.

Not one dime of the tax breaks they got filtered down to the consumers. The CEOs used the money to buy back their stock, which made the stock prices go up, which made their profitably look better, so the CEOs got bonuses. It also made the stock market go up generally, which Trump points to as a success, which it isn’t. It’s smoke and mirrors, and will implode again soon, just like it did in 2008.

Is President Trump the only one in Washington who has read the Constitution? Forgive us, but that’s how, amid the brouhaha over Mr. Trump’s criticism of the Justice Department, we would turn around the question that Khizr Khan famously asked at the 2016 Democratic National Convention. The president, it seems, has a clearer grasp of his constitutional powers and obligations than anyone in this fray.

The thing to focus on is Article II of the Constitution itself. It creates the president and vests in him — and him alone — the executive powers of the government. It’s as straightforward as it can be. “The executive Power,” it says, “shall be vested in a President of the United States of America.” It doesn’t say “some of the executive power.” It says “the” executive power. It vests such power in only the president.

In any event, the fact that the executive power is vested in a single person makes the executive branch different from the legislative branch, where powers granted are diffused among 535 members of the House and Senate, and judicial branch, where power is diffused among 870 Article III judges. One thing this means is that, unlike judges and legislators, presidents can’t recuse themselves for a conflict of interest.

It’s the old, “careful what you wish for” thing…Last year, Canadians faced a median wait of nearly 21 weeks to receive specialist treatment after getting referred by a general practitioner. Certain procedures come with longer waits. End-to-end, patients waited a median of 39 weeks for orthopedic surgery in 2019.

Sadly, it looks like the only thing that Congress can promise is that the cost of healthcare to American citizens is guaranteed to go up in 2020 while coverage will undoubtedly decrease. SMBs will continue to hammer the unsuspecting patient and doctors will watch helplessly while bureaucrats march to a conclusion that only increases government control on the healthcare industry.
