Sheriff Kevin Pals says there is “no investigation at this time” regarding an alleged incident that was described to NIT this way by a reader”
“There is an internal investigation being conducted at the cerro gordo county law enforcement regarding Deputy Sheriff (NAME REDACTED BY NIT), he is alleged to have been extremely intoxicated at a nightclub located in Iowa, and then proceeded to physically assault another patron and the verbally bully this person. This can be confirmed by the Sherriff of Cerro Gordo County.”
NIT has sought more information from the tipster. It appears there were no charges filed in the incident. More information will be reported if it becomes available.
This is the absolute truth!!! Complete with eye witness!!!enough that this deputy would never have a nickel, he was lucky this time, is all I can say.
If this is true, this deputy should have never been hired. He needs to be fired now. The Sherrifs needs to do the right thing and fire him for conduct unbecoming of an officer. Sherrifs if the citizens are held to certain standards so to must your officer be held to a higher standard. This guy is going to get the county sued, embarrass other already battered officers nation wide and tarnish your legacy as a good sheriff. Please do the right thing. Investigate it, make it transparent, and if he was wrong then discipline or fire him.
Sounds like officer CF, He has been nothing but problems here in North Iowa, I really wish Sheriff pals would Fire him, He has harrassed me numberous times, He is out to get people that he don’t like… Mr CF Cheats and has affairs on his wife all the time, If you look him up on Iowa courts online, He got a ticket i believe up in Mitchel county couple years ago, For Not yielding to an Emergency Vehical?? And he’s an officer with Cerro gordo??
CW- just put out this cops initials and then when we see the creep we can sit and make fun of him.. When some of these guys put on a badge they think their shit don’t stink, but when they open their mouth you find out their whole body is infected.

go figure sheriff pals has a problem our there with his out of control deputies and jailers. I hear the moral and retention out there is terrible. Everyone in town knows who the partiers are that think they are king shit. Drunken deputies and juiced up jailers who can respect them. Pals maybe its time to move on!!
Not the first time such a thing has happened. Considering I was involved in intimidation from a cop while I was casually enjoying an alcoholic beverage in Mason City.
Perhaps the other person refused to press charges or cooperate and maybe this nightclub in Iowa is not within our Sheriff’s jurisdiction.
