WATERLOO, IOWA – On November 2, 2015, at approximately 3:00 PM, officers with the Waterloo Police Department observed a subject known as Brandon Seeley, 24, driving a blue Dodge van near the area of Young Arena in downtown Waterloo. Seeley had a valid arrest warrant for a Probation Violation for possession with intent to deliver marijuana out of Jones County.

Officers attempted to stop Seeley and he refused to stop his vehicle. Officers pursued Seeley to the area of 4th and Wellington, where Seeley turned his vehicle and drove at an officer who had exited his squad car. An officer with the Waterloo Police Department fired at Seeley. Seeley drove away from the scene and officers continued to pursue him in the area of 337 S. Hackett Road, where he exited his vehicle and ran into the garage at 337 S. Hackett Road, that is where he was taken into custody.

Seeley was transported to Allen Hospital in Waterloo with gunshot wounds and remains in custody. The Iowa Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is investigating.

No further information, including the officer’s name, will be released until all interviews have been conducted.
