Iowa man sought after allegedly shooting two people

investigateDAVENPORT, IOWA – An Eastern Iowa man is being sought by police after two people were shot in Davenport over the last 24 hours.

According to Davenport police, on Thursday, September 10th, 2015 at approximately 7:03 PM, 911 received a report of shots fired in the 200 block of South Hancock Avenue. Officers arrived and located two victims – an 18-year-old male and a 19-year-old female – both with gunshot wounds. The male had serious, but non-life threatening injuries and the female had less serious gunshot injuries. Both victims were transported to the hospital to receive medical treatment. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that the assailant and victims knew each other. This incident is believed to be related to other recent gun violence incidents.

On Friday September 11th, 2015, warrants were issued for 19-year-old Davenport resident, Joshua Brewer. Brewer is wanted for going armed with intent, two counts of willful injury causing serious injury and intimidation with a weapon causing serious injury.

Previously, on August 19th, 2015, Brewer was arrested and charged with criminal mischief second-degree and reckless use of a firearm. He was released from custody the following day on a $5,000 bond. Charges from this previous incident are still pending.

Police are asking anyone with information leading to the apprehension of Brewer to come forward.
