Clear Lake man arrested for fifth time for drunk driving

CLEAR LAKE – A Clear Lake man was jailed for what appears to be at least his fifth drunk driving arrest.

A Cerro Gordo county deputy conducted a traffic stop on August 9 at 3:34 AM near Highway 18 and Buddy Holly Place in Clear Lake. The driver was allegedly speeding driving carelessly. During the traffic stop, convicted drunk driver Shawn Jerry Kettwig, age 46 of Clear Lake, was found to have a revoked driver’s license and no insurance. He allegedly interfered with the deputy’s traffic stop, as well.

Kettwig was taken to jail on charges of second offense operating while intoxicated, driving while revoked, interference with official acts, speeding, careless driving, and no insurance. His car was towed from the scene.

Kettwig was found guilty in 2000 of felony third offense drunk driving. He still owes $1,148.78 in fines and court fees in that case, which courts are actively trying to collect.

Kettwig is facing a plea hearing on August 18 after a drunk driving arrest in Floyd county in March of this year. He initially pled not guilty.

WOW!!! If I looked like HIM, I would stay drunk 24/7. In fact, if I were THAT ugly, I would NEVER want to be seen in public; hence no more driving. Just pay someone (however) to buy & deliver…

What do you do with a person like this, and just think, there are thousands of them out there doing this daily. There’s no respect for the laws of this country any more. Most people think that it doesn’t affect them, but it does, that is every honest tax paying citizen. If your a scoff law, with no job, no future, no nothing, then it doesn’t. Until someone in your family gets killed by a drunk driver.
