MASON CITY – Thanks to the hard work of local volunteers, Moonlight Movies should be returning soon to East Park.

Volunteer Kyle Easley said that he and the others involved in bringing nightime movies to the East Park band shell “are awaiting final licensing approval to release all the details, but we have a line up of 4 movies to show the end of this month and August.”

Mr. Easley also announced that the group has acquired new speakers and all the needed equipment is ready to go. He also said that a number of generous sponsors are lined up to cover the licensing fees. Pending approval, movie dates and details will be released soon.

Mr. Easley explained that it costs about $300 to show a “free movie” to the public, and sponsors are always needed to help cover these costs. If you or a local business are interested in sponsoring, or if you would like to help volunteer, you may contact Kyle Easley, who is also a member of the Mason City Park Board, at 641-430-2033 or by email at kj_easley@yahoo.com.
