CHARLES CITY – A Charles City couple was arrested after a domestic incident.
Charles City police were called to a residence in the 900 block of 9th Avenue at 1:30 AM on April 17 for a domestic situation. Upon arrival, officers separated a man and a woman involved in the dispute. After an investigation, 33-year-old Jovita Dunigan, formerly of Chicago, was arrested on a charge of first offense domestic abuse assault. Also arrested was 35-year-old Antowne Cooper for obstruction of emergency communications.
Both persons were soon released from jail. Dunigan faces a hearing on May 1. A no-contact order was set by a judge, as well.
