MASON CITY – A Clear Lake man was jailed for second offense drunk driving and warned for driving the wrong way a one-way street in Mason City.
A Cerro Gordo deputy stopped a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Brandyn Marcus Schade, who provided a Clear Lake address. He was stopped at the 400 block of South Federal Avenue just before 2 AM Monday morning, April 13. Shade was warned for violating a one-way traffic designation. Deputies suspected that Schade was intoxicated and he was taken to the county jail for breath alcohol testing. A test was performed on a male subject by the arresting officer, at 2:49 AM. The tests returned blood alcohol levels of 0.222 and 0.221; the Iowa legal limit is 0.08.
Schade was jailed, processed and later released, pending a court date. He was last arrested for drunk driving in 2009 and pled guilty.
