MASON CITY – Several NIACC track and field athletes have received all-American honors by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for their performances at the NJCAA national indoor meet in March 6-7 in Albuquerque, N.M.
Earning all-American honors for the NIACC women are Rellie Kaputin for her placings in the triple jump (third), high jump (sixth) and long jump (seventh). Hannah Palmeter was an USTFCCA All-America honoree for placing fifth in the mile and 3,000.
Also, Adrine Monagi earned All-America honors for placing sixth in the pentathlon, LaBrisha Michael was an All-America honoree for her seventh-place finish in the shot put and Kalama Towarap, Alyssa Cowan, Emmorie Stokka and Nicolle Hewett were All-America honorees for their eighth-place finish in the 4×800.
For the NIACC men, Imad Amenzou earned All-America honors for his third-place finish in the 800 and Simons was an All-America honoree for placing seventh in the 1,000.
