SUMNER, IOWA – Two teens were injured after the pickup truck they were riding in entered a ditch and rolled over.
On March 24 at 8:42 AM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a 911 call of a one vehicle accident with injuries and entrapment just east of Sumner on Hwy 93 or County Road 150th Street. Once deputies arrived they found that the driver of a 1991 Chevy K1500, Johnathan Oberholtzer Fox, age 17 of Randalia lost control and entered the south ditch jumping a driveway and rolling his vehicle twice onto its top. Brent Horst, age 15 of Mountain Grove, Missouri was a passenger in the vehicle. When deputies arrived both subjects had been freed of the vehicle and were being transported to Sumner Community Hospital by SEMS ambulance service. Also assisting at the scene was the Sumner Police and Fire.
The two injured teens were reported to be in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. Fox was cited for failure to maintain control, his vehicle was considered a total loss.
