CEDAR RAPIDS – A Mexican citizen who used another person’s social security number was sentenced yesterday to serve 120 days’ incarceration.
Roberto Ambrosio-Salvador, age 43, from Michoacan, Mexico, received the prison term after a January 8, 2015, guilty plea to misuse of a social security account number.
Information presented to the court showed Ambrosio-Salvador used a fraudulent permanent resident alien card, and a social security number issued to a person who is now deceased, for the purpose of obtaining employment in Waterloo, Iowa.
Ambrosio-Salvador was sentenced in Cedar Rapids by United States District Court Chief Judge Linda R. Reade. Ambrosio-Salvador was sentenced to 120 days’ imprisonment, to be followed by a 3-year term of supervised release.
In sentencing Ambrosio-Salvador, Judge Reade noted his two prior criminal convictions for driving while intoxicated.
Ambrosio-Salvador was given credit for time served in custody and ordered released to the Department of Homeland Security detainer for processing and removal from the United States.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Richard L. Murphy and investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations.
120 days for a felony -screwing up another (LEGAL) residents life – come on LVS this was just a slap on the hand! Then of course I will they should have sent you to prison because you were abetting their felony. PHOOEY.
@bad-Just saying it goes on all the time and the federal government just looks the other way. Go to any of the southern states and you will see it.Texas and California are real bad. The farmers and ranchers all use undocumented labor and there used to be a big truck farmer in Clear Lake that did too. The beet farms in Minnesota are famous for it and the chicken ranches in Hampton use them as well. There used to be a lot more around and they are coming back because they know Obama supports them.
I am glad they are going to actually remove this guy from the Country. Wait until Obama hears about it, he is really going to be mad!
@John-This has been going on for years and years. The plant I ran in Texas had a lot of illegals (I loved those guys) they were so happy to have a job and would do anything they were asked with a smile on their faces. As long as you treated the fairly the were extremely loyal. H.R. told me once that of the eighty illegals in the plant they were using two Social Security numbers for all of them. Then one day the Border Patrol showed up and raided us and said I would go to jail
cont-each illegal. Needless to say they were all gone and never came back. I had hell getting the Texans to do the work the illegals were doing. I had to fire three people just to get their attention.
