MASON CITY – A woman allegedly displayed a box cutter on a Mason City Transit bus, police say, and the incident is under investigation.
Two unrelated incidents took place on Friday, March 13, 2015, on different Mason City transit buses, police told NIT.
Police were called at 10:37 AM on Feb 13 to investigate an incident that involved a knife or sharp object. Police identified the female that allegedly displayed the object right away, but had difficulty reaching the actual victim who had apparently exited the bus prior to police arriving. Police were unable to locate the victim until 1:40 PM that afternoon to get his side of the incident.
“The victim knows the female suspect but is not sure yet if he wants to press charges,” a police spokesman said. “The knife allegedly displayed was a boxcutter. This case is on-hold for right now until we know if the victim is willing to follow through and we can get more info. This incident occurred on the West Central transit bus.”
It was not known if the man was injured int he alleged incident.
Another February 13 incident, again reported through a third party, involved a report of a female passenger on the North Central transit bus at 1:06 PM. The reporting party said the female yelled or was discourteous towards the driver. Officers arrived and spoke to the female at the depot near city hall. An officer transported the female home to resolve the situation. There were no criminal allegations.
