DALLAS COUNTY – A driver who fell asleep behind the wheel was killed during a crash early Monday morning in central Iowa.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix was northbound on Highway 141 near mile marker 140, at around 5:35 AM, when the driver fell asleep at the wheel. The car left the road and entered the north ditch and proceeded to roll twice twice. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle.
The victim’s name was not released pending notification of family.
