JASPER COUNTY, IOWA – On March 13, 2015, a two-vehicle fatality crash occurred around 8:30am at the intersection of Hwy 65/330 and Hwy 117 in Jasper County.
Robert D. Evans, 62, of Des Moines was pronounced dead at the scene, after the vehicle he was driving northbound, broadsided a semi hauling livestock. The semi driver, Jamie J. West, 37, of Lone Tree was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of Hwy 65 onto Hwy 117 when the incident occurred. Poor visibility due to the dense fog is to blame for the cause of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
