CHARLES CITY – Police were called to a Charles City house and took a man to jail after an alleged domestic assault.
An emergency call was placed to police on March 8 at about 5:46 PM to investigate a domestic abuse situation in the 200 block of Oliver Street. Upon arrival and investigation, police arrested 37-year-old Benjamin David on charges of domestic abuse assault and a second charge of assault with intent to inflict serious injury.
David was taken to the county jail booked and released on March 10 after posting bond, pending a court date.
