Northwood man awaiting trial for meth possession arrested in Mason City

MASON CITY – A Northwood man sorting out his crimes in Worth county was stopped by police on a North End street and jailed on a theft charge.

Dennis Lee Jaspers, age 52, was pulled over by Mason City police at the 300 block of 6th Street NW on March 8 at about 1:10 PM in connection with a previous theft incident. He was arrested and charged with theft in the fifth degree. He is being held in the county jail on bond at this time.

Jaspers pleaded guilt to fifth degree theft in Worth county on January 29. He was ordered to pay $305.38 in fines and court costs.

At this time, Jaspers is facing charges in Worth county of criminal mischief and methamphetamine possession after an arrest by the Worth county sheriff’s office on February 9, 2015. He will be arraigned on the meth charge on March 16 and a trial is scheduled for July 9 on the criminal mischief charge.
