Minneapolis cops investigate shooting death of man

MINNEAPOLIS – A man was discovered dead of gunshot wounds in Minneapolis early Saturday, and police are investigating.

Shortly after 12:30 AM, officers from the Minneapolis Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at 4th Street NE and Lowry.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with gunshot wounds. That victim was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center where he died a short time later.
The suspect, described as a black male wearing jeans and a gray hoodie-style sweatshirt, had fled the scene east on Lowry. An extensive search did not yield the suspect and no one is in custody at this time.

The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victim as well as the nature and cause of death.
