MINNEAPOLIS – Police in Minnesota’s largest city are saying Sunday that a possible drunk driver struck a squad car with two police officers inside, injuring both and sending them to this hospital.
Shortly after 12:35 AM on Sunday morning, a Minneapolis police car, occupied by two officers, was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of Plymouth Avenue North and Fremont Avenue North.
Both officers were taken to the hospital for treatment and evaluation. The driver and passenger of the other vehicle declined medial attention.
Police say it appears that the cause of the accident was failure to yield and alcohol on the part of the civilian vehicle’s driver. No further information was released at this time.
