SPENCER – A Spencer man who was arrested last year for an alleged sex crime against an underage female has had the charge dismissed.
Challer Douglas Wadsley, age 20, was arrested on April 23 at the Clay County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of felony D third degree sexual abuse.
A mandatory reporter informed the Clay County Sheriff’s Office on March 28 of an alleged sexual encounter between Wadsley and a female more than four years younger than age 19, which lead to the charge and arrest.
Wadlsey posted $5,000 bond and was released from jail on April 28.
Wadlsey pled not guilty on May 5th. After at least 7 trial postponements, the charge of sexual abuse in the third degree was dismissed by a judge.
Wadsley was also charged twice with violating the court-ordered no-contact order with the alleged victim.
