MASON CITY – A Manly woman was taken to jail after she was caught allegedly trying to steal an adult sex toy.
Cerro Gordo county deputies were called to Pure Pleasure adult novelty store, located at 10480 265th Street in rural Mason City on the evening of January 28 to investigate a complaint from the store that a woman was trying to steal merchandise. A deputy arrived, and after an investigation, it was determined that Bethany Renae Shackleton, age 28 of Manly, had attempted to steal a “dominator” female sex toy valued at $15.99.
Shackleton was taken to the county jail where she was booked and held until she posted $300 bond the next day. She faces a court detain February 11.
