IOWA CITY – Fran McCaffery’s Iowa Hawkeyes have swept the season series with the Ohio State Buckeyes for the first time since 2006 with a 76-67 victory in front of a packed Carver-Hawkeye Arena crowd.

Adam Woodbury netted a season-high 13 points and grabbed 10 boards – the second double double of his career – while Aaron White netted 22 points. He has scored 20 or more points four times this season. White registered 18 of his 22 points in the second half.

“Boy, did he take over,” Coach Fran McCaffery said of White’s play. “He played with great energy at both ends. He was disappointed in himself in the last game defensively, not offensively. He’s got tremendous pride, and he’s a winner.”

“We like where we’re at and how we’re playing. We’ve got great chemistry together and i’m excited to see how far this group can go,” White said after the game.

White is now No. 9 on Iowa’s all-time scoring list (1,591 points). He moves ahead of Adam Haluska.

Iowa is now 4-1 to start the Big Ten Conference play. The Hawks led 37-26 at the half.

Iowa returns to action Tuesday, Jan. 20, when it travels to Madison, Wisconsin, to take on the Badgers. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. (CT) at the Kohl Center.

“Anytime you go to a top-five team like Wisconsin it’s fun. We’re going to get back to work tomorrow and get ready for them,” Said center Adam Woodbury.
