RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – A Minnesota woman was injured Sunday in a single-vehicle accident northwest of Mason City.
According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident at about 1:21 PM at 285th Street and Mallard Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle, 42-year-old Janet Mallan of Rochester, Minnesota was northbound on Mallard Avenue when she lost control of her 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette due to ice on the roadway. The vehicle went into the east ditch.
Mallan was transported to Mercy Hospital in Mason City with undisclosed injuries by Mason city fire medics.
The accident remains under investigation.
