MASON CITY – A Mason City man being held int he Cerro Gordo county jail has been charged with assault after an incident in the jail, and has pleaded guilty in a drug case.
Jeffrey Alan Beier, age 32, entered into a guilty plea last month in a driving while barred and drug possession case brought by Mason City police. He will be sentenced on January 5, 2015.
Also in November, Beier was found guilty of two counts of contempt of court in connection with a felony domestic assault involving strangulation case. Two additional counts were dismissed. He was sentenced to 21 days in jail. A guilty plea in the felony domestic abuse case has also been entered and will again be sentenced on January 5, 2015.
Beier was charged with three counts of assault on December 17 after an incident in the county jail. No court date has been set as of yet. On January 5, 2015, he will face a hearing on a previous assault charge.
