NIACC women roll past Wartburg JV, 80-51

niacc_trojans_logoMASON CITY – Sierra Ford-Washington scored 27 points with seven rebounds, five assists and six steals to lead No. 7 NIACC to a 80-51 victory over the Wartburg College junior varsity Tuesday night in women’s basketball action.

NIACC (7-1 overall) also received 13 points from freshman Savannah Lentz, a career-high 12 points from freshman Tegan Ketels and 10 points from sophomore Ashleigh Onaca.

The Knights were led by Megan Doty with 11 points and Jamie Peterson with nine points.

NIACC led 51-28 at the half and outscored the Knights 29-23 in the second half to win its fifth straight contest.

NIACC returns to action Saturday at home against Marshalltown in a nonconference contest. Game time is set for 1 p.m.

Notes: Ford-Washington has 412 career points, 173 career rebounds, 103 career steals and 70 career assists.
