FORST CITY – A former police officer who is accused of trying to burn down the Forest City police station will stand trial in January.
Thaddeus John Ellenbecker, age 37, was previously convicted of arson and burglary for allegedly setting a fire to the Forest City police station back in 2011. He was sent to prison for 10 years, but he won an appeal on the grounds that his miranda rights were not read to him before he made statements to investigators following an injury from a gunshot wound caused by law enforcement.
A trial date has been set for January 21, 2015. He again faces felony arson and burglary charges.
