MASON CITY – Two male inmates in the county jail have been charged with assault after a jailhouse incident.
Deputies at the Cerro Gordo county jail responded to an altercation between two male inmates on the afternoon of Sunday, November 23. Willie James York, age 35, and Daniel Allen Whitmore, age 35, were engaged in a scuffle in a common area of the jail. Both men were charged with simple assault and held on an additional $300 bond to go along with their other charges.
