NEW HAMPTON – A New Hampton man was arrested for drunk driving after an accident Thursday afternoon in Chickasaw county.
Two cars collided and a third vehicle was involved but not damaged in an accident Thursday afternoon about 5 miles east of New Hampton at Gilmore Avenue and Highway 18. A 2014 Jeep driven by 58-year-old Dawn Schweizer of Charles City was eastbound on Highway 18 as a 1999 Dodge Caravan driven by 42-year-old Chris Krieg of New Hampton was southbound on Gilmore when he allegedly ran a stop sign at that intersection and struck the Jeep. Krieg was arrested at the scene for first offense operating while intoxicated and failure to stop.
He is being held in the Chickasaw County Jail.
