MASON CITY – A Mason City woman allegedly flew into a rage and went after her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend, putting her own child at risk while she rammed her rival’s car, will stand trial on several charges in December.

Police allege that Gabrielle Jade Marie Young, age 20, assaulted her ex-boyfriend and his current girlfriend on July 28 at or near the 1300 block of North Washington Avenue. Police said that although the incident did not take place at a home, the assault was still a domestic assault since the two were still involved in a relationship. The assault charge was filed on behalf of the Young’s ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend. Police said that during the course of the assault, Young allegedly and intentionally, struck the new girlfriend’s vehicle with her vehicle and that at that time Young’s one month old child was in the car with her. Young then left the scene, and after an investigation, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Young was later arrested and charged with serious assault, serious domestic assault, child endangerment and third degree criminal mischief.

Young will face a jury trial on December 30 in Cerro Gordo district court.
