MASON CITY – Police arrested a newly-convicted car burglar after a nasty incident late Sunday at a Cultural Crescent rental house.

Mason City police were called to 314 North Georgia Avenue on Sunday, November 9 at about 9:41 PM after an emergency call was made about a physical domestic altercation there. Police arrived, and after an investigation, determined that 23-year-old Michael Mireles of Algona was the aggressor in the incident. Mireles was arrested and charged with felony domestic abuse assault involving strangulation and first offense domestic abuse assault causing injury.
