Mason City woman pleads guilt to theft, sent to jail

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman accused twice this year of stealing from local businesses has taken a plea deal and is now in jail.

Jennifer Lynn Gesiriech, age 38, is serving a 7 day sentence in the Cerro Gordo County Jail after pleading guilty on October 21 to two counts of theft in the third degree. Gesiriech was caught on May 5 stealing at Mills Fleet Farm and then again at another business on July 17. The theft charges against her were enhanced due to her criminal history.

Gesiriech was given a two year suspended prison sentence and a 358 day suspended jail term as well as 2 years of probation on both counts. She was ordered to pay $327 and $291 in court costs and fees, while fines of $625 were suspended.
