MASON CITY – A former Mason City woman wanted on arrest warrants has turned herself in to the Cerro Gordo sheriff Saturday morning.
Katie Jo Lewis, age 26, now living in Des Moines, was wanted on a probation revocation warrant in connection with a drunk driving guilty plea earlier this year. Lewis was supposed to pay $1,661 in fines and court fees in pleading guilty to drunk driving on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2014. Lewis was also given a deferred judgement and placed on probation for one year. However, she has failed to make any payments on the balance she owed the courts, and a warrant for her arrest was issued on October 10. She will face a November 14 hearing in that case.
Additionally, Lewis was supposed to show up in Cerro Gordo county court for a pre-trial conference on October 17 in connection to a third degree theft charge. She, along with another woman, had been caught stealing at Target in Mason City on March 18, 2014. However, she failed to show up in court, and a warrant for her arrest was issued that day. She was set for trial on October 28, but no outcome for that is known.
