Woman caught with meth in Wal-Mart parking lot won’t face trial till spring

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman who was caught passed out in a car with meth won’t face trial until next spring.

Melody Rae Mcgurk, age 43 of Mason City, was caught by police on the morning of September 25 as she nodded off in a car parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot, located at 4151 4th Street SW. Upon arrival, police investigated and determined that Mcgurk was in possession of methamphetamine. She was arrested for possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia, jailed and later released after posting $1,000 bond.

Mcgurk has hired attorney John Lander of Mason City and pleaded not guilty to both charges. A trial date was recently set for April 2, 2015.
