WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Defense announced a new policy Thursday that would allow illegal aliens to join and serve in the military.
According to militarytimes.com, for the first time in decades, new rules will expand an existing program allowing recruiters to target foreign nationals with high-demand skills, mostly rare foreign language expertise or specialized health care training.
The program — known as Military Accessions Vital to National Interest, or MAVNI — will be open to immigrants without a proper visa if they came to the U.S. with their parents before age 16. More specifically, they must be approved under a 2012 Obama administration policy known as Deferred Action for Child Arrivals, or DACA. These persons are sometimes known as “Dreamers”. Iowa congressman Steve King has railed against the Dreamers, and wants the program defunded and the Dreamers out.
However, as the Military Times explained, President Obama has vowed to aggressively use his presidential authority to change the way immigration policies are carried out, and the new DoD policy may be the first phase of a broader governmentwide effort to ease pressure on immigrants and create new paths to citizenship.
Estimates suggest between 1.2 million and 2.1 million children, teenagers and young adults in the U.S. have no legal immigration status but meet the criteria for the DACA program. Those targeted by recruiters under the MAVNI program likely will be immigrants with language skills critical to national security, such as Arabic, Chinese, Pashto or Persian. The Pentagon program is capped at 1,500 recruits per year.
On average, the military recruits about 5,000 noncitizens each year, nearly all of them permanent U.S. residents, or so-called “green card” holders.

It does make you wonder why they want illegals in the military and are cutting back on trained soldiers. Time to clean my guns again.

Have you ever heard of the litmus test? Hundreds of officers have been relieved of their command because they failed this test. The question was when weapons were outlawed would they fire on US citizen, I know a few that said no, when they asked me I said no. They know that the majority of the military would say no so they need soldiers that would say yes, hence the amnesty act. These new soldiers are gangbangers from other countries that have no emotional ties to the US.

This has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard of. Why would you let a rulebreaker and lawbreaker in our military?? They will have no loyalty at all for our country.
Yeah, forget about your own people and their patriotism…go ahead and cater to foreigners. You do with foreign aid money, so why not turn the military into a group of foreign nationals highly trained with the latest military equipment, and next to no allegiance or roots to this country? Sounds like a smart strategic National plan. Like I’ve said before….I’m the REAL PATRIOT, and I don’t need to kowtow to the military and their F***ed up hiring policies.
If you put 2 and 2 together, they are handing out pink slips for troops still in Afghanistan and then either trying to pass or already passed the amnesty act, allowing illegals to join the military to get their citizenship. To me it sounds like they are trying to get a military that will follow orders no matter what they are.
