Four-time star wrestling champ leaving Hawkeyes for NIACC

MASON CITY – Reports have surfaced that the NIACC wrestling team will be gaining a Hawkeye.

Four-time state champ Jake Marlin from Creston-O/M is transferring from Iowa to NIACC, a top-ten ranked NJCAA team last season.  No reason was given for his transfer.

In the 2013-1 season, Marlin redshirted. He posted a 6-2 record at 141 pounds while competing unattached.

In High School, Marlin was a four-time Iowa high school state champion. He won titles at 138 pounds as a junior and senior, 135 pounds as a sophomore, and 130 pounds as a freshman. He compiled a career record of 204-6 and set the state record with 147 career pins.
