GARNER – A Britt man is going to prison for up to ten years after he pled guilty to a number of charges related to indecent contact with a child.
Andrew Liska, age 25, Britt, was sentenced on charges of “LASCIVIOUS ACTS WITH A CHILD,” a class C felony, “LASCIVIOUS ACTS WITH A CHILD,” a class C felony and “INDECENT CONTACT WITH A CHILD,” an aggravated misdemeanor, all stemming from an investigation by the Garner Police Department with assistance from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office on September 15, 2013. Liska was sentenced to serve up to ten years in prison and pay a suspended fine and surcharge of $1,350 for Count I. He was also sentenced to serve up to ten years in prison and pay a suspended fine and surcharge of $1,350 Count II. Finally, he was sentenced to serve up to two years in prison and pay a suspended fine and surcharge of $843.75 for Count III. All prison sentences shall run concurrently. Liska was ordered to pay court costs, victim restitution and attorney fees. These convictions trigger a special sentence for which Liska will be eligible for lifetime parole supervision. He will also be required to register as a sex offender and be subject to residency, employment and exclusionary zone restrictions. A no contact order shall be entered for the protection of the victims.
