MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore Stephanie Faught has signed a national letter of intent to run cross country at Columbia College, an NAIA school in Columbia S.C.
Faught, who prepped at Clear Lake, was a member of the NIACC women’s cross country team that placed 13th at last year’s national meet. Faught placed 101st at the national meet in a time of 20 minutes, 31.4 seconds on the 5-kilometer course.
“Their coach came to one of our meets and ended up talking to me for about an hour and half,” Faught said. “It’s a long way from home but I’m excited to leave Iowa for once.”
