On Tuesday, May 20, 2014, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Louis Lavern Ostlie, 56, of Jesup. Ostlie was arrested and charged with first offense Operating While Intoxicated (serious misdemeanor). This arrest was made after a deputy observed signs of intoxication from Ostlie in the 1300 blk Sixth Street in Jesup.

On Friday, May 23, 2014, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Morgan Jean Paulson, 16, of Independence. Paulson was arrested and charged with Assault with Intent to Commit Injury (aggravated misdemeanor). This arrest was made following an incident in the 2200 blk Iowa Avenue west of Independence.

On Saturday, May 24, 2014, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested James Howard Aaron, 18, of Independence. Aaron was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana (serious misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a traffic stop near 220th Street and Racine Avenue south of Winthrop.

On Saturday, May 24, 2014, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Manni Jo Pirillo, 17, of Fayette. Pirillo was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (class D felony), Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana (serious misdemeanor) and Contributing to Delinquency of a Minor (simple misdemeanor). This arrest was made in the 200 blk Fifth Avenue NE in Independence.

On Saturday, May 24, 2014, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Brianne Kay Armstead, 19, of Independence. Armstead was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor) and No Driver License (simple misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 300 blk Eighth Avenue NE in Independence.

On Sunday, May 25, 2014, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Alexander Michael Joseph Carlson, 18, of Mount Auburn. Carlson was arrested and charged with Driving While License Revoked (serious misdemeanor), Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana (serious misdemeanor) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). Carlson was also issued citations for Fraudulent Use of Registration, Unlawful Use of Driver License and Failure to Carry Proof of Insurance. This arrest was made in the 100 blk South Madison Street in Hazleton. The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit.

On Sunday, May 25, 2014, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Ryan Scott McCall, 20, of Hazleton and Blaze Alen Schoultz, 17, of Hazleton. McCall and Schoultz were arrested and each charged with Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana (serious misdemeanor) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). These arrests were made following the discovery of controlled substances and the execution of a subsequent search warrant in the 100 blk South Madison Street in Hazleton.

Yerkes was arrested and charged with Driving While License Suspended (simple misdemeanor). Yerkes was also issued a citation for Failure to Carry Proof of Insurance. This arrest was made following a traffic stop near Sixth Avenue and Seventh Street NE in Independence.

Rogers was arrested and charged with Driving While License Suspended (simple misdemeanor). Rogers was also issued a citation for Failure to Carry Proof of Insurance. This arrest was made following a traffic stop near Stewart Avenue and Buffalo Creek Blvd south of Winthrop.
