CLERMONT, IA – A report of a counterfeit bill passed at a northeast Iowa business has gotten the Secret Service involved.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, on May 20, 2014, a report was taken by law enforcement that a Clermont Business had received a Counterfeit $20.00 bill. At this time, the incident remains under investigation. The Secret Service has been notified, the sheriff’s office stated.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind businesses to be vigilant when handling money.
