MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore Tim Sharples has signed national letter of intent to play soccer at Georgian Court University, an NCAA Division II school in Lakewood Township, Ocean County, N.J.
Sharples (York, UK) was a first-team all-NJCAA Region XI defensemen during his sophomore season for the Trojans.
“Tim has a tremendous drive,” NIACC coach Jonathan Platt said, “as demonstrated by his recovery from injury in his first season.
“He came back even stronger and delivered high-quality performances time after time.”
The Georgian Court soccer program will be beginning its third-season under coach Dino Raso, who started the school’s program in 21012.
The Lions were 5-12-1 overall and 2-9-1 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in the 2013 season.
“I’m delighted for Tim,” Platt said. “Georgian Court has signed a fantastic player and we wish Tim every success as he continues is playing and academic career.”
