MASON CITY – A Mason City man pled guilty Friday to serious domestic assault and is now serving jail time.
Donald Eugene Abendroth, age 54, was charged with serious domestic assault in October of 2013 by Mason City police. On Friday, May 16, 2014, Abendroth pled guilty to the charge and was sentenced to 2 days in jail and $728.90 in fines and court fees.
Abendroth owes thousands to Iowa courts on other cases, one of the latest being a guilty plea to felony burglary in 2012. That charge was also brought by Mason City police.
