MASON CITY – NIACC’s Kadejah Young signed a national letter of intent to play basketball next season at William Penn University, an NAIA school in Oskaloosa.
William Penn, which is a member of the Midwest Collegiate Conference, was 12-18 overall and 3-9 in the league under coach Mike Brown.
“The coaches were real nice,” Young said. “We clicked. I had the same vibe from them as I did from coach Kelli (Terrell) and coach Todd (Ciochetto).”
Young, a 5-foot-5 guard from Minneapolis, averaged 8.3 points and 3.1 rebounds per game for the Lady Trojans, who were 34-3 and placed third at the NJCAA Division II national tournament.
Young, a second-team all-NJCAA Region XI selection, ranks 15th on NIACC’s all-time scoring list with 569 points and ranks fourth on the career 3-point list with 97.
