KANDAHAR, Afghanistan- Afghan National Police killed seven enemy fighters during a unilateral operation in Shamulzai district, May 10.

This operation was conducted to disrupt insurgent networks activity along the Shamulzai, Shinkai and Naw Bahar tri-border area.

The patrol also confiscated two Soviet-made machine guns, four AK-47s and two integrated communication radios.

Afghan forces conducting unilateral operations clearly demonstrate that the progress in Afghanistan is real and tangible. The ANP continues to increase their capabilities and confidence everyday by effectively eliminating insurgent threats and limiting their lethal capabilities within the country.
