Violent Iowa man tells female victim “I own you”

IOWA CITY – An Iowa man convicted numerous times for harassment had some chilling words for his latest court-protected female victims.

According to a report from law enforcement, on April 28, 2014, an Iowa City man, James Glen Dampier, age 46, called a woman who was protected from him by a court order and told her “I love you bitch. Watch out”. After a series of harassing text messages over the course of several days, he then told the woman “I own you”.

Police said that days prior to these incidents, Dampier had taped a two-page letter to the victim’s apartment door, that used “profane, insulting, offensive” language.

Dampier was charged with 1st degree harassment, arrested and jailed.  He has been charged in Iowa courts with numerous felonies and violent crimes.
