Iowa cops investigate theft of silver cross from church

EVERLY, IA – Police in the small Iowa community of Everly in Clay county are searching for a culprit who broke into a church.

Clay county sheriffs reported that on the evening of March 18, a person or persons broke into the Hope Lutheran Church in Everly and rummaged through drawers and cupboards. A silver cross was reported stolen and a storage tote was broken into.

The theft is under investigation. Police advised that if anyone has information, they should call the Clay County Sheriff’s Office at 712-262-3221.
