Grassley Weekly Schedule

Here is information about Senator Grassley’s schedule this week. The Senate is in session.

Senator Grassley will meet with Iowans in Washington, D.C., from Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement, the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, Iowa Wholesale Beer Distributors, the Family Planning Council of Iowa, the Iowa Restaurant Association, the Iowa Firefighters Association, Community Bankers of Iowa, the National Automated Clearing House Association, the Fraternal Government Relations Coalition, the American Beverage Association, the Iowa Transportation Commission, the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce, and the Committee on Pipe and Tube Imports.

Senator Grassley will meet with Iowa students from Drake University in Des Moines and the Culver Public Policy Center at Simpson College in Des Moines. Grassley will also meet with Josephine Everett, of Sioux City, who is the Iowa Poetry Out Loud state champion.

Senator Grassley will meet with Iowa families from Mount Vernon, Mount Pleasant, Wayland, Altoona, Urbandale, and Bettendorf.

Senator Grassley will be a guest on public affairs programs hosted by Sally Hart on KCII in Washington, Theresa Rose on KILJ in Mount Pleasant, Gary Edwards on KXEL in Waterloo, Bryan Nichols and Sean Secrease on WTAD in Quincy, and Mark Hahn on KSCJ in Sioux City.

On Wednesday, April 30, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in a Judiciary Committee hearing on “Oversight of the Drug Enforcement Administration.”

On Thursday, May 1, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in the weekly executive business meeting of the Senate Judiciary Committee. The committee may consider the nominations of Carlos Eduardo Mendoza to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of Florida, Darrin P. Gayles to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida, Paul G. Byron to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of Florida, and Beth Bloom to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida. The committee may also consider S.1720, the Patent Transparency and Improvements Act of 2013, sponsored by Senators Patrick Leahy, Mike Lee, Amy Klobuchar and Sheldon Whitehouse.

On Thursday, May 1, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in an Agricultural Subcommittee on Jobs, Rural Economic Growth and Energy Innovation hearing on “The Importance on Regional Strategies in Rural Economic Development.”

On Thursday, May 1, at 11 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in a Finance Committee hearing on “President Obama’s 2014 Trade Policy Agenda.”
